There’s a call for a national database to track DNA in dog poo.
Under current law, it’s not illegal for your dog to poo in a public place, but it is illegal to fail to dispose of it.
Dublin Councillor John Hurley says local authorities aren’t able to police the problem, because they don’t have enough dog wardens on patrol.
He believes a DNA tracking system could be a gamechanger……………
