Gardaí say the number of hate crimes is rising.
It recorded 676 hate-related incidents last year, across all nine discriminatory motives, up 4 per cent on the year before.
Anti-race was still the motive in most cases.
The largest percentage of hate-related crimes and incidents last year took the form of public order issues, followed by minor assaults, criminal damage, and assault causing harm.
