Gardaí say a number of youths were observed in the Cannings Lane area of Muff before a car was set on fire last week.
The fire service worked to bring the blaze, which broke out at around 4pm on Thursday afternoon, under control.
Anyone who observed the youths in the area or who has dash cam footage is asked to contact Gardai in Buncrana.
