State examinations get underway today

Almost 5,000 students in Donegal are to sit their State Examinations today.

It’s estimated that 2,652 will begin their Junior Cert, 2,072 will start their Leaving Cert and 223 are to undergo the Leaving Cert Applied exams.

Around 4 million examination papers will be handed out at more than 15,000 exam centres over the next three weeks.

As is tradition, the exams will start off with English Paper One while Religion and Applied Maths bring the exam season to a close on 24th June.
