
Donegal County Council is being urged to write to the Department of Housing to express concern over the exclusion of the county from a number of key national affordable housing schemes included in the Government’s Housing for All plan.
Councillor Declan Meehan is calling for an urgent review of the eligibility criteria for the Affordable Purchase Scheme and Cost Rental Scheme to ensure it is rolled out in Donegal.
The Council says it anticipates the forthcoming new National Housing Plan will introduce Affordable Housing delivery targets for all local authorities which will ensure the county’s inclusion in the Affordable Purchase Scheme.
