
Around 5,200 people will be granted Irish citizenship in Killarney today, with 87 of those living in Donegal.
Six ceremonies will be held over two days, with applicants from 132 countries around the world and living in 32 counties on the island of Ireland being conferred as Irish citizens.
The Minister of State with responsibility for Migration, Colm Brophy, will be in attendance.
Significant changes have been introduced in the Citizenship Division of the Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration to speed up the application process for applicants, including the introduction of an online digital application, online payments, and eVetting.
