Mullooly welcomes new support to defer Mercosur vote

The Italian and French Governments have come out in favour of a deferral to a vote on the controversial EU-Mercosur agreement.

This has been welcomed by Irish MEP Ciaran Mullooly, who has been a staunch opponent of the deal in its present form.

The Midlands-North West representative has said he expects the vote to now go ahead in January.

He has also said he hopes that he and his colleagues can seek a legal review of the agreement.
