Heritage Council inviting Donegal NGOs to apply for support funding

The Heritage Council is inviting applications under its Organisations Support Fund.

The initiative provides financial support to not-for-profit non-governmental organisations working in the heritage sector.

Money secured under this initiative goes towards funding staff salaries, rent costs, the hiring of new staff, training and skills development and piloting new ways of working.

Donegal County Council’s Heritage Officer Joe Gallagher says the Heritage Council supported two County Donegal-based heritage organisations last year. They were the Brian Friel Trust and the Inishowen Maritime Museum.

Up to €50,000 is available per organisation, with applicants required to demonstrate either regional or national relevance, as well as showing that they are undertaking actions that assist in the delivery of national policy and plans.

Applications can be made on the Heritage Council’s on-line grants management system until 5 p.m. on Monday January 26th.

A full overview of eligibility criteria and other relevant details are available from the Heritage Council’s website www.heritagecouncil.ie

In order to assist applicants to the scheme, a recorded webinar is available to watch on the Heritage Council website at: www.heritagecouncil.ie/funding/heritage_orgs-fund.

Advice is also available from the County Donegal Heritage Office, Donegal County Council by e-mail at heritage@donegalcoco.ie or by telephone on (074) 9172576.

Applications must be made via the Heritage Council’s on-line grants system: https://www.heritagecouncil.ie/funding/on-line-grants-system
