Fisheries Minister Timmy Dooley is in Killybegs this afternoon for a meeting with fisheries industry representatives.
They’ll discuss recent quota cuts described by the industry as devastating, and overfishing in Irish waters by trawlers from other fleets.
He’ll brief them on his plan to establish a task force to be chaired by a former IFA CEO to advise on “a framework of supports” for the seafood sector and coastal communities in 2026.
