Gardaí in Donegal are asking motorists to ensure all tyres are in roadworthy condition before taking to the roads.
They say tyres are the only part of your vehicle that keep you in contact with the road surface.
It is recommended that you change your tyres when the tread depth falls below 3mm.
The legal minimum tread depth is 1.6mm.
