A retired orthopaedic surgeon in Letterkenny says he believes the National Treatment Purchase Fund is a major issue which is hindering rather than helping the public health service in the long term.
Speaking on today’s Greg Hughes Show, Dr Peter O’Rourke repeated his reservations about Slaintecare, and questioned the narrative that the treatment of private patients in public hospitals is a major issue.
He believes there’s a focus on short term fixes rather than long term investment, and that, he says, is a real problem.
Dr O’Rourke says Slaintecare is not the solution.……
