Donegal’s Oscar Traynor dream ends with extra-time defeat to Limerick

Donegal have been beaten 2-1 after extra-time by Limerick in the Oscar Traynor Trophy Semi-Final in Castlebar this afternoon.

After going in at half time locked at 0-0, it was the Munster side who struck first when Ciaran O’Connell dispatched a penalty just after the hour mark to give them the lead.

A Gareth Harkin penalty just a few minutes later brought Donegal level and that is how it remained until the second period of extra time when Kai Joyce hit the winner for Limerick.
