Three e-scooters were seized in Letterkenny yesterday following reports they were being used dangerously by youths.
It later emerged the scooters were in breach of power, weight, and other regulations.
Gardaí are appealing to parents not to buy the vehicles as gifts for their children.
They also say that if families already own them, they should be taken away, warning that enforcement will continue.
