EU Energy Commissioner advises member states to save fuel

The EU’s energy minister is urging people to work from home.

The European Commission is poised to announce a package of measures to address fuel prices and shortages caused by the war in Iran.

In the meantime the European Commission says people should drive and fly less frequently to ensure supplies remain intact.

In recent days the Tanaiste said a work-from-home mandate wasn’t needed at this time.

But  Business Editor Joe Lynam says that’s now being contradicted by Europe’s energy commissioner Dan Jorgensen…….

 

Meanwhile, US President ​Donald ​Trump says the ‌US ⁠will ‌be leaving Iran “very ⁠soon.”

Speaking to reporters at the White House last night, he said the exit ​could be ​within ​two or ​three weeks.
