The beaked whale that died after being spotted in Lough Swilly has been removed from Rathmullan Beach.
The Irish Whale and Dolphin Group successfully recovered the animal yesterday evening and it has now been taken to Sligo, where an examination will be carried out to determine the circumstances surrounding its death.
Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council, Cllr Pauric McGarvey, has thanked everyone involved in the response.
