Health Minister says reduced spending doesn’t necessarily compromise patient safety

The Health Minister says there’s no correlation between budget management and patient safety.

It comes after four of the six HSE regions have effectively had control taken away after budget overspends, including HSE West North West.

Jennifer Carroll MacNeill says the current overspend is projected at 760 million and she hopes to wind that in.

She says reducing spend doesn’t negatively impact patient safety……………..
