Law Society launches new solicitor apprenticeship programme

The Law Society of Ireland is introducing a new solicitor apprenticeship programme this week, describing it as one of the most significant changes to solicitor training and access to the profession in decades.

Under the new scheme, school leavers will be able to train as solicitors without first completing a third-level degree, providing an alternative to the traditional graduate route.

The earn-while-you-learn programme is designed to broaden access to the profession and provide another pathway for aspiring solicitors.

The Law Society says the apprenticeship will be fully accredited and carry equal standing to existing routes to qualification.
