A Donegal TD has repeated his belief that the government is not making adequate resources available for the administration of a workable aquaculture licensing system in this country.
Deputy Padraig MacLochlainn made his comments during exchanges at the Oireachtas Committee on Fisheries and the Marine between himself and Brian Batt, the Department’s Head of Aquaculture.
The committee is currently carrying out a pre-legislative review of proposed amendments to the Fisheries Act which are intended to deliver faster decisions on applications and appeals.
