The government is set to approve a national planning statement on short-term lets.
It will see an effective ban on new holiday rentals in towns and cities with a population of more than 20-thousand people. This list is likely to include Letterkenny, where the 2022 census recorded a population of just over 22,500.
It comes ahead of the legislation, underpinning the new rules, going before the Dáil.
