Finn Harps under-17 ladies’ team were defeated 3-0 by a strong Waterford side in their League of Ireland Women’s Under-17 Shield Final which was played at Athlone Town Stadium.
The Waterford team effectively had the title in the bag after three first half goals, courtesy of A Walsh, J Roche and K Dalton.
Harps put in a strong second half display but were unable to make any breakthrough.
Nevertheless, it was a great credit to them to reach this final and it augurs well for times ahead.
