The Taoiseach has defended the government’s record in economic development in the North West and border region, saying the numbers at work have risen since the government was elected in 2020, and average incomes have also risen.
Leo Varadkar was responding to South Donegal Deputy Marian Harkin, who questioned him about the fall in GDP per capita in the border region.
Mr Varadkar said the presence of multi-national companies like Apple and Microsoft render regional comparisons invalid.
However, Ms Harkin stressed in the Dail that she is speaking about EU averages……………
