Journalist

Highland Radio are seeking to recruit a full time  journalist. The successful applicant will be integral to the delivery of local news and current affairs across our broadcast and digital platforms.

This role is highly hands-on and requires a keen interest in the
issues and people of our community.

Key Responsibilities:

Gather, write, edit, and present  local news and sports stories to strict daily deadlines.
Prepare and anchor regular news bulletins on air.
Actively attend news markings Council, Press Conferences and conduct on-location reporting.
Conduct interviews with local figures, politicians, and members of the public.
Develop and maintain a strong, reliable network of local contacts.
Create engaging, original content for the station’s online and social media channels.
Operate essential audio equipment and editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition) as required.
