Job Description

Donegal Famine Heritage Centre (Dunfanaghy) CLG, trading as ‘The Workhouse’, is a multi-purpose community, cultural, arts and heritage exhibition centre located in the town of Dunfanaghy, Co. Donegal. The Board of ‘The Workhouse’ is seeking to appoint a Heritage & Community Officer to support the implementation of a new Social Enterprise Business and Development Plan which will see the facility become a ‘flagship’ cultural heritage and creative arts visitor experience on the Wild Atlantic Way. This role will be co-funded under the Community Services Programme (subject to POBAL funding) and will be based at ‘The Workhouse’ in Dunfanaghy.

Key aspects of the role include:
Co-ordinating, planning and implementing a range of community activities at The Workhouse
Engagement with community groups in relation to the heritage and culture of The Workhouse
Assist in relation to the daily operations of the Workhouse including operation of the tours, shop,
café and related administration
Note: In line with the guidelines for the CSP Programme, applications for this position are being
sought from persons who are, or who will be, in receipt of a payment from the Department of
Employment Affairs and Social Protection prior to taking up the position.

Heritage & Community Officer Salary €30,000 (gross) per annum
