Vape prices could rise under Budget 2027 plans

The price of vapes could go up next year.

It’s believed Minister for Finance Simon Harris is considering increasing the current vape tax in Budget 2027.

The e-liquid products tax became law in the 2024 and has raised over €22 million since it’s introduction, according to the Irish Times.

Addiction specialist Dr Garrett McGovern, medical director of the Priority Clinic, is worried people will return to smoking if the levy is increased:
