Supermac’s given green light to expand into the UK market

Supermac’s has won its latest battle with McDonald’s and has been given the green light to expand into the UK market.

The UK Intellectual Property Office has ruled that the Irish company’s name and logo are significantly different to the US fast-food chain’s name and logo, meaning they can be registered in Britain.

It follows a ruling in June from the EU Intellectual Property Office, which rejected Supermac’s application for an EU-wide trademark.
