Paul Maguire, 27 Wood Park, Lismonaghan, Letterkenny and formerly of Skeoge Cottages, Burt

The peaceful death has taken place of Paul Maguire on Friday the 14th August 2026, 27 Wood Park, Lismonaghan, Letterkenny and formerly of Skeoge Cottages, Burt, surrounded by his beloved family, under the exceptional care of staff at the Donegal Hospice.

Retired Member of the Irish Defence Forces.

Predeceased by his father James and deeply regretted by his extended family.

Forever loved and sadly missed by his wife Mary (Herlihy) and their two cherished daughters Aoibhín and Niamh, his mother Sarah (Scotland), brothers Peter (London), Andrew (Scotland) and David (Scotland), sisters-in law, nephew, cousins, aunts and uncles and extended family members.

Treasured by his wide circle of friends, former comrades, neighbours and the wider community.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Paul’s medical and palliative care teams for their extraordinary care, compassion and dignity, which was shown to Paul, Mary, Aoibhín and Niamh throughout a difficult year. Sincere thanks is also given to all who showed continuous support to Paul and his family.

Reposing at the family home, 27 Wood Park, Lismonaghan (F92 X2D1), today Friday 14th August from 7.00pm to 10.00pm and Saturday 15th from 2.00pm to 9.00pm, where you are most welcome to pay your respects, concluding with Rosary each night.

Family time, please, on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass on Sunday, 16th August 2026 at 11.30am in the Church of the Irish Martyrs, Ballyraine ((F92 PN81), which can be viewed online at the Church of the Irish Martyrs YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@churchoftheirishmartyrs4657 followed by burial in Burt Cemetery.
