Family Carers Ireland to host town hall meeting in Ballybofey

Family Carers Ireland are set to hold a town hall meeting at the Villa Rose Hotel in Ballybofey next week and have encouraged family carers from across Donegal to make their voices heard ahead of budget 2027.

It is part of a wider series of events which are happening across the country.

Some issues that are expected to be raised at the meeting include calls from Family Carers Ireland to abolish the Carer’s Allowance means test, an increase in weekly carer payments to €325 and a higher Carer’s support grant.

Politicians are being urged to attend the meeting, Elaine Rooney Carer Support Manager for Donegal explains why that is so important:
