A new pilot programme’s being launched aimed at reducing smartphone distraction in schools.
It will see students allowed keep their phones but they will be blocked from access to non-essential smartphone functions.
The programme removes the need to collect, store and return devices every day.
Longford and Westmeath Education and Training Board is the first education provider to take part.
