Republic of Ireland ladies international player Anna Patten – who has strong Falcarragh – links and Mayo’s Aoife Mannion are both getting €10,000 through the SKY WNT Fund towards their master’s degrees in Women’s Football Club Management, with two grassroots clubs also benefiting.
Anna selected Glenea United FC in Falcarragh, Donegal, where she spent many summers with relatives growing up, while Aoife nominated Ballinrobe Town FC in Mayo, where her younger cousins play.
Each club will receive €5,000 to support women’s and girls’ football in their local communities and help nurture the next generation of talent
