Harps members to take first vote on Filipino millionaire’s take-over bid

Members of Finn Harps co-op will vote at a special general meeting tonight in Jackson’s Hotel, Ballybofey, on a resolution that will pave the way for a takeover by Filipino investor Freddy Gonzalez who has pledged considerable funds for the Donegal club.

If a 75% majority vote in favour, a second meeting will then be required to proceed.

Alfredo Fernando Razon Gonzalez made history as the first Filipino-born professional football player.

His journey from the Philippines to professional football is a story of determination, passion, and a deep love for the beautiful game.

Now he wants to own and preside over a professional club in Europe.

He has ambitious plans for Finn Harps, with investment plans that will run into several million euro.
