Trade unions and Government representatives are due to continue talks with a Government-appointed group today, in an effort to find a way back to negotiations over the public sector pay dispute.
Around 300,000 workers are expected to take part in a 24-hour strike this Thursday, with rallies planned across the country from midday.
The planned day of action is set to coincide with a major meeting of European ministers in Dublin.
