I had the honour of first being elected as your County Cllr in 2009, 2014 and 2019. With your continued support I hope that I will be re-elected. I have more work to do for this part of Donegal that has always been the poor cousin to the rest of the County. The most important thing in my life today is my family and the people I represent. With your continued support, I will be able to continue to help, especially for those who need it most.
I had the Honour of representing my County as their Mayor in 2012/2013. I used that year to promote the awareness of Sport Aiding Mental Health (SAM). I never promise anything that I did not believe was possible. I have always told people the truth and that I will always try my very best to deliver for them.
2024 & NEW COUNCIL
I believe the biggest threat to us as a whole community in East Donegal today is Defective Concrete incorrectly known and promoted as the Mica Scandal by those in power within Irish Local and National Government. Our Government’s failures include delivering on Health, Mental Health, Housing, Education, Infrastructure, Water & Environment, Crime & Policing, Agriculture, Emigration, Jobs and Our Rights which are supposed to be enshrined and protected in the Irish Constitution. We hear the same political waffling on the door steps again about the same political issues above especially now that the Local and European Election campaigning has started for real.
We are in the biggest crisis our County has ever seen or witnessed due to this Defective Concrete Scandal. It will get a lot worse before it gets better.

The Defective Concrete Scandal
Over the last 3 years, I have investigated, researched and written extensively about the Defective Concrete Scandal misrepresented as the Donegal Mica Scandal and claimed that it was caused by the theory that Freeze Thaw was a contributing factor in the Structural Defects we see in Donegal Properties and Homes today. Proper testing and Science conducted to date has certainly put to bed the notion and narrative that Mica is the cause of this Scandal, when in-fact this could not have been further from the truth as we all now know that aggregates with deleterious materials such as Reactive Iron Sulphide Minerals have and are still causing the destruction of our Properties and Homes, predominately by Pyrrhotite.
The EU directives which are then adopted by the NSAI have been completely ignored by those in power especially within Donegal County Council and the Department of Housing. These State bodies and others helped design and create a Defective Concrete Block Standard that only allows Donegal to test for Mica only. That Standard is known as I.S. 465:2018+A1:2020 which they claim is under review? They never needed this new Standard because they already had the Standard for manufacturing the Blocks which is I.S. EN 771-3 and I.S. EN 12620 for the aggregates that are used in the manufacturing of the Concrete Blocks. I will continue to expose in the Council what other Cllr’s have ignored and will do so without any fear of threats to sanction me unfairly as they have done to date. With a new political mandate it gives a clear message to those in power that the People want the truth and that they want those responsible for covering up this Scandal held to account which I will certainly do if re-elected after the 7th June 2024.
“THE WORST FORM OF JUSTICE IS PRETEND JUSTICE” and that is certainly what they have delivered in the Grant Schemes to date. This fight for Justice should have started in the Courts and that is where it will finally end up as this is the only place where we have any hope of getting JUSTICE.
