Lisa Chambers is a Fianna Fáil Senator and Leader of Seanad Éireann. She previously served as a TD for Mayo and member of Mayo County Council. Lisa lives in Mayo with her husband Jarlath and their four year old son Louis. Before entering politics Lisa worked as a
Barrister and has a degree in Commerce, Law, a Masters in Commercial Law and a professional Barrister qualification from Kings Inns.
Lisa has 10 years experience in elected politics and has worked on key briefs for Fianna Fáil in Defence, Brexit and currently
European and Foreign Affairs. Lisa was a member of the Irish Army Reserve for 13 years and reached the rank of 2Lt. Growing up in Mayo, Lisa is passionate about the West of Ireland, a big focus of her European campaign is to tilt the balance back in favour of the
region and achieve more balanced investment for the West.
She wants to work on an EU wide Women’s Health strategy, having developed the first ever Women’s Health Policy for Fianna Fáil. Lisa is committed to supporting farmers and rural communities and will work to ensure a fair and adequately funded CAP. Lisa wants to develop Ireland’s renewable energy sector and deliver floating offshore wind projects along the Atlantic seaboard, to provide affordable green energy for homes and businesses across Ireland. Above all Lisa wants to ensure a bright, prosperous and sustainable future for all our children and believes the European Parliament has a huge role to play in shaping our shared future.
