Job Description

EmployAbility Northwest Ltd delivers a Supported Employment Service for jobseekers with
disabilities, impairments, mental ill health, and varying health conditions throughout Sligo, Leitrim, and Donegal.

We are currently recruiting:
2 x Job Coaches Full Time Posts
Donegal Town (1) & Letterkenny (1)
we are creating a PANEL of Job Coaches for the Northwest (including Sligo, Leitrim, and Donegal)

small dynamic team based in Donegal Town and Letterkenny. This role offers great variety, forming strong professional relationships with Employers, Agencies, Government Departments, and our job-seeking clients.

With clients in the Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal region, a full clean Irish driving licence is essential.

JOB COACH
Background

We have offices in Sligo, Letterkenny, Buncrana, Falcarragh, Donegal Town and Ballinamore (currently relocating to Carrick on Shannon).

Job Seekers Supports
We support people with disabilities, illness or injury, mental ill health, impairments, and varying health conditions to find and maintain jobs. Our focus is on people’s abilities, skills, and interests, combined with their motivation to find paid employment. Individuals are referred to our service through the INTREO Employment Service Officers in the Department of Social Protection.

Employers Supports
We provide a free Recruitment and Coaching service for Employers. We match the recruitment needs of Employers with the skills and abilities of Job Seekers with disabilities and simultaneously help Employers to improve their profitability. There are a number of incentives available to Employers, including the Wage Subsidy Scheme, and we can provide advice on the most suitable
options for your Company.

Job Description

  • Manage caseload to work towards achieving agreed Key Performance Indicators.
  • To conduct an individual assessment to identify the Jobseekers interests, capacities and needs.
  • To conduct interviews with the Jobseeker and other stakeholders to determine the Jobseeker’s employment aspirations, experiences, abilities, skills, and potential obstacles.
  • To establish a rapport with the Jobseeker and develop a positive working relationship.
  • To ensure that the Jobseeker is actively engaged in all phases of the job placement process.
  • To identify potential employment opportunities through accessing existing employment data, conducting employment surveys and networking.
  • To market EmployAbility Northwest Supported Employment service to both potential jobseekers and employers.
  • To complete an environmental analysis to assess whether the workplace will be a supportive
    environment for a Jobseeker who may need some level of ongoing support from his/her co-workers.
  • To arrange job interviews for the Jobseeker and accompany to job interviews as required.
  • To act as an advocate for the Jobseeker where necessary.
  • To provide support to the job seeker employer, supervisor, and co-workers.
  • To report on a regular basis regarding the jobseeker’s progress.
  • To respond immediately when issues arise concerning the jobseeker’s wellbeing.
  • To maintain high professional standards and confidentiality at all times.
  • To participate in training and development programmes.
  • To liaise as necessary with DSP on jobseeker activity and progression.
  • To liaise with relevant organisations to support Jobseeker’s labour market needs.

We are a Supported Employment Service for Job Seekers with disabilities, impairments, mental ill health, and varying health conditions. We are funded by Contracted Public Employment Services (CPES). We currently have a Permanent Contract position for a Job Coach in our company with funding secured for a 3 – 5 year programme.

Person Specification:

  • Relevant Third Level Qualification is a distinct advantage in; Adult Guidance / Business / HR / Recruitment / Sales / Marketing / Social Studies related studies.
  • and/or Experience in the field of Disability, HR, Sales & Marketing or other relevant experience.
  • Experience of working with people with disabilities is desirable however the ability to communicate, with job seekers with disabilities and their families is essential.
  • Ability to show sensitivity towards job seekers needs and empower them to succeed in the workplace.
  • Excellent Sales, PR, Marketing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to be innovative and resourceful
  • Ability to handle unexpected crises that may arise unexpectedly
  • Experience of using recruitment and employment principles, methods, techniques, and
    resources
  • Knowledge of Employment Legislation
  • Excellent IT skills to include ability to use Microsoft Office, Cloud Technology, and
    other technologies through desktop sites via computer and remotely through mobile applications essential
  • Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post
  • Full clean driving licence and means of transport is essential for the position
  • A high level of professionalism is required for this post, and confidentiality is of utmost importance
