Garda Bernard (Barney) Carr, Cabinteely, Dún Laoghaire, Co. Dublin, and formerly Ballinacrick, Fanad

The peaceful death has occurred in St. Vincent’s University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family of retired Garda Bernard (Barney) Carr, Cabinteely, Dún Laoghaire, Co. Dublin, and formerly Ballinacrick, Fanad, Co. Donegal.

Predeceased by his son Seán and brothers James, Michael, Frank and John.

Deeply regretted by his wife of 67 years Elizabeth (Dot), his sons Paddy and Eilish (Roestown, Ardee), Brian and Elaine (Shankill) and his daughters Mary and Martin Costello (Knocklyon), Carol (Kilmainham) and Elish and Colin Kelly (Stepaside) and his sisters Peggy and Marjory (London).

Sadly missed by his adored 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, his extended Family, neighbours and many friends.

Barney’s remains will repose at his late residence at 1a Woodlands Road, Cabinteely, Dún Laoghaire, from 3:00PM to 8:00PM on Sunday, 30th June.

Removal from there at 9:15AM on Monday 1st of July, going for Mass at 10:00AM in St. Brigid’s Church, Cabinteely.

Barney’s remains will then travel to Shannagh, Fanad, Co. Donegal, where they will repose from 6:00PM to 10:00PM. Parking is limited. A shuttle bus will be available during these hours from Trialough Community Centre. Rosary at 9:00PM.

Removal from there on Tuesday, 2nd July, at 10:30AM going to St. Mary’s Church, Fanavolty, Fanad, for 11:00AM Requiem Mass, with burial in the adjoining graveyard.
