Four properties owned by fugitive solicitor Michael Lynn were repossessed yesterday after he failed to make payments on an outstanding loan of more than €685,000.
Mr Justice Brian McGovern granted the possession orders against the disgraced former solicitor for four properties at The Green, Thornberry, Co Letterkenny, on foot of an application by Anglo Irish Bank.
The court heard that Mr Lynn did not respond to the latest summons sent to him by registered mail in January to his latest known address at an apartment complex in the Algarve in Portugal.
The judge said he wondered why an international arrest warrant had not been issued against Mr Lynn who is wanted for questioning by the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation over allegations of fraudulent mortgage debts of €80m.
Mr Lynn has not been seen in Ireland for the past two years after being disbarred and he is believed to be living on the run.
Also named in the application was John Mulkearns, of Glasvenin, Dublin. The Aer Corps pilot turned property developer had purchased the properties with Mr Lynn.
The bank loaned Mr Lynn €671,740 to buy the properties in February 2007 and sought a demand for possession on January 22, 2008, when no payments were received, the High Court heard yesterday.
The outstanding loan, including €13,829.09 in interest, now stands at more than €685,000.
