First group of Buncrana parking fine defaulters before the courts

Buncrana Town Council has followed through with its commitment to crack down on those not paying their parking fines with the first traunch of cases before the courts today.
In March it emerged that 700 parking fines had not been paid, these included drivers with multiple outstanding fines.
Of the 700 hundred fines issued 500 related to northern Ireland registered vehicle.
While new legislation was introduced allowing northern drivers to be persued by the council the first number of cases relate to southern
registered vehicle.
Buncrana Town Engineer Donal Walker says the council was left with no chioce but to go to the court:
