It’s being claimed that the proposed cross-border radiotherapy unit for Altnagelvin Hospital has been put back by a year. It’s understood that a North South Ministerial Council meeting on health yesterday discussed changing the target date for the unit from 2015 to 2016.
Derry MLA Martina Anderson has called on the North’s Health Minister, Michael McGimpsey to clarify the reason for the delay.
Recently, the Republic’s Health Minister Mary Harney told campaigners from Donegal that 2015 remains the target date.
