As the clean up operation continues today, the full extend of last nights damage as begun to emerge.
The ESB has said North Donegal was the worst hit area in the country, and there was 600 outtages overnight.
An ESB spokesperson said that most of the outtages have been now restored in the past half an hour.
Coporate Communication Manager with ESB, Brian Montane says outtages remain in Rossnilagh and Ballyshannon, but they hope to have them restored shortly:
