Man charged with trying to smuggle drugs through Derry Airport

A 31-year-old man has been charged with attempting to smuggle cannabis with an estimated street value of £3,000 into the UK via City of Derry Airport.
The man, who is originally from Portugal but currently lives in County Tyrone, was detained after he got off a flight from Faro to Derry on Thursday.
He was arrested after Border Force officers found over half a kilo of suspected cannabis in baggage.
He is due to appear before Derry Magistrates’ Court on 29 August.
