ICSA describe proposed changes third level maintenance grants as “lunacy”

The Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers’ Association has described as “lunacy” proposed changes to the assessments of third level maintenance grants.
It’s thought that the changes may see productive assets, such as farmland and machinery, being included in the means testing of the grants.
The I-C-S-A says it’s worried such changes could result in children from low income farm families being excluded.
President Gabrielle Gilmartin says farmers simply won’t be able to send their children to third level if this happens:
