55,815 people, the vast majority of them secondary school students, receive their Leaving Cert results today, just under 2,000 less than last year.
A total of 2,046 people sat the Leaving Cert exams in Donegal in June – that is around 10% less than last year.
Last year more females than males sat the exam with the same applying in 2012.
1,039 of Donegal students were female, and 1,007 were male.
A further 275 students sat the Leaving Cert Applied – that is an increase on the 148 that sat it last year.
Results will be available at schools from this morning and from midday, students who are not in a position to collect their results in person from their school can access them through the State Examination Commission’s Internet results service, or by telephone.
