Paddy Harte appointed Chair of Donegal Gathering Steering Group

As preparations continue for The Gathering Ireland 2013, it’s been confirmed that Paddy Harte has been appointed as Chair of the Donegal Gathering Steering Group.
His appointment comes ahead of five community meetings in the county during September to discuss ideas of what events and initiatives might be linked to the Gathering in Donegal.
Paddy Harte worked as Senior Development Advisor with the International Fund for Ireland in County Donegal for over 20 years, and is currently a Lecturer in Leadership and Business Management at Letterkenny Institute of Technology.
After his appouintment as Chair of the County Donegal Gathering 2013 Steering Group, Mr Harte said the event provides a real chance for Donegal people to work together to showcase the county.
He said the challenge is to reach out to our global diaspora and bring them home to a distinctive Donegal welcome.
He added nothing has been attempted on this scale before, and urged local people, community volunteers, sporting organisations, educational bodies and businesses to participate in any way they can.
