Harvey seeks housing policy that recognises number of empty units

A Stranorlar area councillor has described figures released by the CSO, which reveal the number of vacant residential units in Donegal, as ‘shocking’.
The figures published by the CSO in the ‘Roof Over Our Heads’ report show that there are over 13,360 residential units lying vacant in the county.
This does not include people who are temporarily absent from their homes, or the 10,000 holiday homes that lie empty here for the majority of the year.
Sinn Fein Cllr Cora Harvey says while many homes lie vacant, there are people in need, and a credible policy must be drawn up….
