The new emergency department and medical bloc at Letterkenny General Hospital has opened, with other services moving into the new building over the next two weeks.
The Emergency Department was relocated at 8 o’clock this morning, and saw its first patient within twenty minutes.
Hospital Manager Sean Murphy says the move has progressed very well………….

Over the next two weeks, medical wards will be moved into the new building, and the new Acute Medical Assessment unit will be fully commissioned.
Dr Anne Flood is Director of Nursing and Midwifery at Letterkenny General Hospital, and as project manager, has been coordinating the move to the new building.
She says the new assessment unit will be very effective……….
