Home help workers holding demostration outside HSE offices in Sligo

Home Help workers in the North West are holding a demonstration outside the HSE’s offices in Sligo later – in protest at the HSE’s decision to cut their working hours.
Last month the HSE announced plans to make savings of 130 million euro in the health service, between now and the end of the year.
Under the plan, home help hours are to be cut by 600 thousand hours – an amount which the trade union SIPTU says will have a devastating impact on many vulnerable people.
