Directive preventing gardai from speaking out about station closures ‘outrageous’

A directive to prevent gardaí from speaking out about station closures has been branded as “outrageous” by Donegal North-East Deputy Padraig MacLochlain.
A directive from Garda Commissoner Martin Callinan that forbids members of An Garda Siochana from using their influence to lobby public representatives regarding any decision on proposed closures has been challenged in the High Court.
t is a move which has been supported by Sinn Feins Justice spokesperson.
