Gardai to begin Letterkenny fire investigation later today

Gardai expect it will be later this afternoon before they can enter the scene of a house fire on the Long Lane in Letterkenny this morning. We understand there was nobody in the building at the time the fire was reported at around 7 o’clock this morning.
The blaze was put out by fire fighters, but the building is badly damaged and the remains very hot, so it will be some time before an examination of the scene can begin.
Gardai have confirmed the cause of the fire is under investigation, but it’s too early to say what happened.
