The Trade Union Impact is hosting a meeting of Home Help workers in Letterkenny tonight to discuss plans to cut hours from the service.
The union’s North West Spokesperson Richie Carrothers says the proposals, as they stand, will compromise the health and well being of the most vulnerable in society.
Just over three years ago, a joint Impact and Siptu march in Ballybofey crystalised opposition to proposed cuts, and Impact believe that may be necessary again.
Richie Carrothers says the most important element of tonight’s meerting at 7 o’clock in the Mount Errigal Hotel will be to consult with the home help workers themselves………..
