County Board rejects speculation linking Jim McGuinness with Liverpool job

Jim McGuinness holds an MSc in sport psychology from John Moore’s University in Liverpool and is understood to have links with Antrim native manager Brendan Rodgers.
This has lead to the Donegal Manager being linked with a backroom job at the Anfield club – but Donegal chairman PJ McGowan insists there is nothing in those reports.
He pointed out to the Irish Times that Jim McGuinness was appointed for four years and he has only done two adding that Jim wanted four years himself and that’s what the county board agreed to.
Mr McGowan said the the speculation was  total news to him and that talks had already taken place with Jim about plans for what he intends to do over the winter months and next year.
Mr McGowen said that what Jim does in his own time is his business but a move to Anfield would be a total shock.
